US Imports/Exports Analysis

The visualization project aims to investigate the Imports and Exports to and from the US. The project provides detailed statistics on goods and trade comparison between each state and their relationship with foreign countries for the years 2013 - 2016. This data can be drilled down to the base to learn about the businesses and predict the future growth.

E-Commerce Shopping Analysis

The trade with various countries over years represent the economic growth and the relations with the world of the US. By providing the comparison between Imports and Exports of each state in the US, it is possible to determine the profitable commodities and the target markets for the years 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. 

The data consists of product names, state and year wise values of the products in Dollars and the Share of that product over the years.

1. Which state in the US had the highest Exports?

The state of North Dakota had the highest exports. As seen from the size and the colors of pie chart the percentage of exports is constant for North Dakota over the past few years. The next highest exports was made by Washington DC.

2. Which state in the US had the highest Imports?

The state of Oregon had the highest imports. Based on the size of the pie chart, the imports were significantly high compared to any other state during the period between 2013-16.

3. Compare Import and Export Dollar Value for commodities

The visualization shows us the comparison between imports and exports for the state of California. It can be seen that imports increased over the years while exports were the highest during 2016.

The overall comparison states that exports from the US decreased over the years while the imports remained constant.

The state of California had the highest imports followed by Texas.

The state of Texas had the highest exports followed by California.

7. Which country imported the most from California?

China was the major trade partner of California followed by Mexico, Japan and Canada.

Mexico was the highest exporter to California followed by Canada, China and Japan.
